DepED to deploy e-Classrooms to selected public elementary schools in Cabanatuan

The Department of Education through the Office of Technical Service-Information and Communications Technology Unit (TS-ICTU)will soon deploy e-Classroom Packages to 10 public elementary schools in the Division of Cabanatuan City.
This was learned when the school heads and ICT coordinators of the selected schools were invited to attend the Orientation/Briefing of Batch 7 - Luzon Cluster of the DepED Computerization Program (DCP) on July 21-22 at Mimosa Resort, Clark, Pampanga through an unnumbered DepED Memorandum received by the Office of the Superintendent last July 18.
The 10 public elementary schools which will receive e-Classroom Packages are Cabanatuan East Central School, J.P. Melencio Memorial Elementary School, Imelda Elementary School, Lazaro Francisco Elementary School, P.G Crisostomo Elementary School, San Josef Elementary School, Sumacab Elementary School, Mayapyap Elementary School, Caalibangbangan Elementary School, and Camp Tinio Elementary School.
As of the date of issuance of the memorandum covering this program, the Bureau of Elementary Schools and the TS-ICTU have identified a total of 1,643 school-recipients in Luzon based on the BEIS 2009-2010 Report.
As specified in the memorandum, the primary objective of the holding of the two-day orientation/briefing for the Luzon roll out is “to ensure proper and prompt deployment” of e-Classroom Packages to selected schools.
The orientation/briefing also aims to orient the participants on their responsibilities regarding their counterpart requirements before the delivery, inspection and acceptance of the computer packages, awareness on technological updates for effective governance through an ICT-aided environment, and utilization of programs and authoring tools installed in the computer units.
The topics lined-up for presentation in the two-day activity includes: ICT Initiative of the Department to be presented by Director Mari Paul C. Soriano of TS-ICTU, DepED Central Office; Digital Learning Resources by Mr. Elmer M. Guizano of TS-ICTU, and; ICT Integration in the Curriculum by the Bureau of Elementary Education.
Meanwhile, stakeholders and service providers were also invited like Microsoft Philippines to discuss Productivity Tools; Columbia Technologies, Inc. to present Delivery Procedures, Schedules and Warranties, and; Promethean to talk about Technical Support in the Interactive Whiteboard which will be a part of the e-Classroom Package.
As enumerated in Inclosure No. 1 of the memorandum, there are 181 school-recipients in Region III and they are broken down as follows: Angeles City (14), Aurora (13), Bataan (21), Bulacan (98), Cabanatuan City (10), Gapan City (7), City of Malolos (8), Science City of Muñoz (1), and Zambales (9).
